Adoration

images adoration

Adoration Church Holy Family - 2nd Friday of the Month 1 pm - 7 pm with Benediction at 7 pm. The other hours have one designated adorer but other people often stop in. One person is the designated adorer who signs in and indicates his/her hour in a binder near the tabernacle. Others are welcome to sign in as well.

We are always looking for more adorers, and substitute adorers. If you are interested in helping, please contact us.

From January to the beginning of Lent, adoration hours are from 1:30 to 8:30p.m. During Lent, adoration ends at 7, just before Stations of the Cross. Regular hours resume the Friday after Easter. If the school is closed in Hebron for bad weather, adoration is canceled. If there is an early closing, adoration ends at noon.

Join us in celebration of our Lord through adoration!

What some have to say about Adoration...

"One hour. One brief hour in a week and it can feel like a week all by itself.  In the hum of our busy lives carving out a solid hour to sit with our Lord in prayer can seem like just one more thing to make time for.  Yet, when you do commit yourself to that hour of Adoration - sitting in the presence of our Savior, in quiet meditation, prayer or just allowing yourself to “be” in the moment - it can change your perspective.  You can feel the shift happen as you fall into the quiet, letting it descend on you and cover you like a favorite blanket.  That is God’s love - the power of his unconditional love for us covers us, shelters us and keeps us safe. It carries away our cares, our sins - and replaces them with peace.  In the presence of our Lord - anything is possible."  – Kris Payent

"Adoration has transformed my life. While sitting quietly with Jesus, I can hear Him knocking, and I let Him deep into the center of my heart. Now, where ever I am, if life's hardships threaten to overwhelm me, I can regain the peace and trust and warmth of God's love that I feel during adoration."  – Carol Fonseca

"I remember seeing a friend signing up for EMHC in the Narthex one Sat after Mass. I thought to myself if she has time to do this then I do also and I signed up. My hope is that your names and comments will do the same for the Adoration Ministry." – Ruth Twomey

"The hour a week of adoration is a coming home. It is a coming home from the business and responsibilities of life and an opportunity during that hour to let those things go and place them within the loving heart of God. It is an opportunity to bring everything we have done, experienced and felt during that week to God's loving presence and to see those things in the larger context of God's heart. It assists us in making every moment of our life a prayer." – Patricia Naktenis

"Jim and I weren't really sure what it was all about. Was there some ritual expectation? No one was really able to explain to us what to expect. We went the first time with another couple we know to find out. What we found was an hour of peace, real peace and quiet in the presence of the Lord, in the form of the Blessed Sacrament. I had never experienced anything quite like it before. So we have made a commitment, one hour a month to spend this time in Adoration.  What do we do??During Adoration we take time to pray, or read the Bible or spiritual literature, pray the rosary or just be present. You decide what you want or need when you arrive. It is a wonderful way to end a week, to put yourself in a frame of gratitude for the weekend. Consider making a commitment to a single hour once a month."  – Liz Fracchia

However I feel I bring it to Adoration. I sometimes bring a journal for the inspirations that come for prayers, poems, songs and I paint little pictures...all because in the silence of His presence I am more apt to hear HIS voice.  I wrote what HE told me which inspired a little chant, ”Come and sit with Me and just be. In the silence hear My whisper. There is love, there joy, there is peace evermore."  - Diane Lally
